How to Make Sea Salt Ice Cream


Cream (Heavy Whipping Cream)
2 Eggs
Sugar (1/3 Cup)
Vanilla (1 Teaspoon)
Sea Salt
Blue Dye (Food Coloring)

You will also need:

Popsicle Molds
Bowls (2)
Ice Cream Maker
Measuring Cups
Measuring Spoons

Boil 2 cups of milk over medium heat; Separate the eggs into two good sized bowls (Separate the egg whites form the egg yolks); Once you've done this, break up the yolks and add 1/3 cup of sugar (mixed it in until it's smooth). After you mixed the sugar and egg yolks, add it to the milk and cook it over medium heat until it thickens. But you don't want to let it boil.

After it thickens take it off the heat. Now blend the egg whites until they're firm Then add the milk; egg yolks and sugar mixture; Now you want to carefully add the Sea salt You want to make it fairly salty but not forgetting that you will be able to taste a little bit of the sweetener later. Add 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla and it will even be sweeter.

Refrigerate until it's cooled (after it's cooled add 1 Kilo of Cream and 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla and stir). Lastly, add colors. The original recipe calls for 12 drops of Blue Dyes and 2 drops of Green Dyes. Instead, I used 13 drops of Blue Dyes and no Green Dyes. The eggs already gave the yellow color effect and they're great enough.
Put the mixture into the Popsicle molds and refrigerate. If you don't have an ice cream maker then just put it in a bowl and just stir everything in it.

tried this method. Doesn't work for popsicles - they won't freeze solid, sadly. :[
